Positive Events

There are many positive things you can do with your dogs. Some of these include sports, conformation shows and awareness events. Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination would like to encourage all responsible pet owners to get involved in your area. Use the State map to see a calendar of events for your home state or anywhere you'd like to travel with your dogs! If you have a purebred dog check out some of the conformation events held by breed clubs in your area. There are clubs for almost any pure breed of dog. Breed Clubs are an important part of breed preservation. They hold fun and point shows all over the country. For the American Pit Bull Terrier they provide a positive venue for testing our dogs worth as breeding stock. Depending on the registry and breed you own there can be conformation shows, weight pulls, tread mill races or other fun events. There are even Junior Handler classes, giving light to a new generation of dog lover. All of these are a way for us to come together as a community. There are breed clubs in the ADBA, UKC, AKC, AADR and SDR just to name a few.

There are also agility, weight pull and dock diving trials held throughout the country. These are sponsored by many different groups. They're a fun and safe way to exercise with your dog! These are great for any breed of dog which extra energy to burn!

Don't forget to check out the awareness and adoption events in your area. Often these are great for dog owners to network with other like-minded people. You might even be able to educate people on BSL or other issues in your area here.

We will do everything we can to post all types of positive dog events on our state by state calendars. If you have an event you'd like posted which you don't see please email us and we'll add you in!
