Are You And Your Pooch Covered?!
In America thousands of Home Owners and Renters are living life on the edge. They are taking risks everyday just because they think they have no choice. What am I talking about? Insurance.
You might not think it's a huge deal that your house, apartment or kennel isn't covered by some form of Insurance. But, think about this. . . a fire burns down your home. You get the dogs out alive but all the houses are burned beyond recognition. Where will your dogs stay? And, how will you get it all back?
Alongside those who are completely without insurance are others who are "covered" but with a catch. They lied about or omitted the breed of their dogs in order to obtain a policy. If this fact were discovered what would happen to your policy? If your dog, god forbid, bit an intruder what would your insurance agency say or do?
These may seem like daunting questions. And, you may not want to deal with them. Putting them out of your mind might seem like the best decision. However, please instead consider the alternative.
Call or email your local Farmer's Insurance Agency about a policy today. Farmer's Insurance has a new policy which makes all dogs equally protected. Their new policy means that whether you own a Lab, poodle or an American Pit Bull Terrier you can insure your home and even obtain liability insurance to cover your dogs.
Even if you have 20 dogs. Even if you think this is impossible. Call and find out for yourself.
Here in Washington, a local Farmer's agent, Calah Klum, has joined forces with Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination to help spread the word about a new policy of anti-discrimination within Farmer's insurance.
Farmer's will now insure your home/property and cover liability on your APBT, or as many as you have, just like any other dog. You don't have to lie about your dog breed or go without insurance, as some do.
Soon you will be able to find information regarding Farmer's new policy and how to obtain a quote from a Pro-Pit Bull agent on our website. Additionally, Calah has pledged that any customers who are referred by Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination will earn us a donation for their signing with Farmers.
This means if you live in the state of Washington and want or need Home Owner's or Renters Insurance which will cover whatever breed of dog you love and cherish, you can help us raise money for breed awareness at the same time.
If you are interested in more information you can email me at webmaster@stop-bsl.com or you can call Calah Klum at (509) 270-2898. Make sure you let her know that Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination sent you!

Does Farmers definitely cover any breed in any state?
I recently got Farmers homeowner's insurance under the impression that they have NO breed specific policies. Today I met with our agent to go over our policy and he said Farmers covers all "normal" dogs, but not "pit bulls".
Disturbing and disappointing. I did some calling around and the other Farmers agents I talked to said Farmers does not have any such policy.
I called our agent back and he said he would double check and call us back. We have a dog who could be thought to have some "pit bull", but regardless I don't want to support any company that has any kind breed specific policy.
Advice?
Buoy1,
I am working with an Agent in Washington. She definitely covers all breeds, including pit bulls and even multiple pit bulls if they have no bite history.
However, I am waiting on 100% confirmation that this policy is nationwide. . .as she originally was told by her affiliates.
She has told me the policy is very very new. Until a short time ago she could not cover pit bulls at all. I will email her with your question and hopefully we can get you some answers.
I feel the same as you do and wouldn't want to support any breed biased company. But, I have a feeling some agents may be going off the old policy or may just not personally want to cover your dog and might be lying to you.
We will see.
"OK...update...it IS nationwide. Many agents might not know about the new policy. Farmers now has ZERO discrimination regarding dogs. I hope that helps! Thanks for all u do...love ya!!!!
Calah "
This is what was just sent to me from Calah Klum regarding this policy. If your agent is telling you otherwise they probably don't know about the new policy, or they don't care.
But, they are governed by Farmer's National policies and need to follow them.
